Junior Taylor Sorsveen excelled for the Osseo/Fridley gymnastics team on Saturday, Jan. 5, in the Minnesota Girls Gymnastics Officials Association meet.
Sorsveen medaled in four events at Park Center High School to lead the Orioles to fourth place with a 126.625. She won the balance beam with an 8.9 and took runner-up on the uneven bars with an 8.7.
Sorsveen also medaled on the floor exercise, taking 10th with an 8.5. Those finishes gave her a runner-up in the all-around with a 34.15, finishing behind Centennial’s Audrey Noha (36.15).
Kyndall Thomas also medaled. She finished third on the balance beam with an 8.6, sixth on the bars with a 7.35 and seventh on the floor with an 8.875.
Junior Katie Edwards ended up 14th in the all-around with a 30.875, and senior Laura Paine was 21st with a 28.525.
Edwards’ best finish was on the bars. She was 13th with a 7.05. Paine’s best event was the floor. She was 24th with a 7.6.
